A rooftop heavyweight: his terrace is not called 360º for nothing. Far from surrendering to the ‘gyoza’ and ‘finger-food’ – what is now in fashion in luxury hotels – the Basque factótum makes sandwiches that reflect his character, such as the already famous Martintxo ‘bokata’ -Galician beef fillet with sardine cream and fried potatoes- or more traditional dishes from his repertoire, such as veal tail ravioli with foie sauce and I take (although here you can make anything from a powerful meal to a vermouth, or a few drinks). And from Monday to Friday they have a lunch menu at an earthly price, which for Michelin signature food and in one of the best terraces in the city is a good offer.
Terrace with high historical cachet: inspired by the romantic garden of the palace-hotel built by Francesc Cambó, as well as by the paintings of the modernist painter Ramon Casas, the Rooftop Garden of the Palace is an oasis of peace and good taste of 1,500 m2 with more than fifty species of plants, fountains, pergolas and a swimming pool with panoramic views over the city (baroque antidote to the ‘bling-bling’ luxury of neon and ‘finger food’ at Michelin prices).
They have created a full-fledged program of activities: open-air cinema sessions with a deckchair and free popcorn bar, yoga and pilates, luxury brunch, live rumba on Thursdays…
Watch out for the added value of the terrace of Sercotel Rossellón (Rosselló, 390): it has jaw-dropping views of the Sagrada Familia: you’re having a beer on the rooftop, and you have the feeling that with a slight movement you could jump and swing like Batman on that iconic facade that looks more and more like Tim Burton’s Gotham and less and less like Gaudí’s vision. Before you looms one of the most photographed monuments in the world, a fact that makes this terrace one of the most Instagrammable in the city. Beyond the basilica, the terrace has 360º panoramic views of the entire city.
A terrace with a lot of personality.The Top, the rooftop of the Gallery Hotel, has a capacity for 120 people. With a spectacular swimming pool, this space offers a gastronomic proposal based on creative cocktails, refreshing to the max, combined with high quality bites, such as tuna mojama with fried almonds or babaganoush with Moroccan spices. Live music plays an important role: Thursday to Saturday from 7pm to 9pm and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm you will find versions of pop hits and rumba sessions.

In Barceloneta, on the fourth floor of the Museu d’Història de Catalunya, we find a terrace that does not need too much height to offer one of the best views of the city. The restaurant is named after the year in which, inspired by English port buildings, the Museum building was designed, 1881. The food menu has tapas and sandwiches in the style of great landmarks – Pedralbes-style frankfurters, La Campana de Madrid-style calamari sandwiches, classic tapas… – and a refreshing cocktail menu, as well as wines by the glass at more or less affordable prices (4 euros a glass).

In this iconic building of the architecture of the seventies, now a hotel of great gastronomic quality-price, the rooftop has two added values: the first is the natural, privileged views (I didn’t want to say it but I said it! Take ‘ranciofact’) to the Sagrada Familia, Paseo de Gracia, Tibidabo and Montjuïc.
The second, the presence of the award-winning and creative barwoman Yanaida Prado, capable of such outrageous creations as the Stone Woman, a fruity delirium with vodka and aromas of Montserrat, which pays tribute to the patron saint of our city. Every day from 5pm to midnight, with DJ on Thursdays and Fridays.
The 83.3 Terrace Bar of the Royal Paseo de Gracia hotel is the highest terrace in the Eixample, as its website proudly proclaims: you go up and you have the Sagrada Familia, the Mediterranean and the mountain of Montjuïc at your fingertips. So as not to leave everything to these spectacular views, they schedule performances by singer-songwriters on Wednesdays from 9 p.m. onwards, and DJ sessions on Saturday afternoons. The menu offers international street food dishes in orderly coexistence with the traditional tapas: ‘baos’ of ‘cochinita pibil’ next to the Iberian ham croquettes.
Rooftop opening hours: from Monday to Thursday from 5 pm to 1 am (with kitchen service for dinner) and from Friday to Sunday from 12 pm to 1 am (with uninterrupted kitchen service from 12 pm to 11 pm).
