These two races will be held with the 11.80-meter AC40 foiling monohulls.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: graphik-regular;\">The third preliminary regatta in Barcelona will already feature the AC75s (22.90-meter foiling monohulls) that the teams will also use in the Challenger Selection Series, which will determine the opponent for defending champion Emirates Team New Zealand and will take place October 12-27, 2024.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: graphik-regular;\">The teams will compete in 13 &#8216;match races&#8217; (boat against boat) and the first team to win 7 races will be the winner. The Challenger Selection Series, in which the five challengers will face the AC75 (the Defender could also do so, but would not score) will start on August 31, 2024 with a double &#8217;round robin&#8217; series, in which each team will face the remaining teams twice. Both the Youth Cup and the Women&#8217;s Cup will be contested with the AC40s and between 12 teams divided into two groups of six for an initial series of fleet races.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: graphik-regular;\">The first group will be composed of the six teams that are registered and competing in the America&#8217;s Cup.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: graphik-regular;\">The second group will be made up of independent participants belonging to yacht clubs that qualify under the nationality clause of the America&#8217;s Cup protocol. Both groups will compete in a series of 6 to 9 fleet races (all against all) and the top three teams from each group will advance to the final series of 3 to 4 fleet races to decide the top two teams.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: graphik-regular;\">These will compete in a single &#8216;match race&#8217; final to determine the overall winners of each event. The finals of the Youth Cup (either men&#8217;s or mixed teams) will be held on October 2, coinciding with the end of the Challenger Selection Series.
